Who lost business to cyber-weaknesses? Everybody, according to survey!

When I ask Small Business how important is security and the answer is: Not That Important…….

Wrap your head around this one: Last month Symantec reached out to 2,100 small, medium and large companies in 27 countries and asked them: how many of you experienced cyber-losses last year?

Survey says: Everybody.

That’s right, a full 100 percent of respondents lost, in almost equal parts, either their customers’ personally-identifiable information or credit card details, intellectual property, or simply good-old fashioned business because of downtime in their Web sites or computer systems.
If you’re wondering what that means, here’s something we can all understand. In average, enterprises estimated having lost a whopping $2 million as a result of lost productivity, revenue or customer trust. Among larger corporations, the average was $2.8 million.
